Engagement: Nick and Arielle

Spending an afternoon at Harvard Square in Cambridge, Mass. is a good time on it’s own, but having the opportunity to photograph Nick and Arielle’s engagement photos was an extra treat. First stop was the Harvard Book Store, where the staff allowed us to slip between the book shelves for some intimate shots in a place where they spent countless hours studying and courting. Then we hit J.P. Licks where the couple shared a sundae. From there is was a breeze, taking advantage of the red brick exteriors and tunnels of America’s most prestigious campus. It was a wonderful day, but I have no doubt it will be a more wonderful wedding.

Wedding: Gunter and Erica

When I sat down with Gunter and Erica to make their wedding album, so many pages were dedicated to the party at the reception, that I almost feel like the shots of them as a couple were overshadowed.  Whether it was Erica’s troop of dancers or Gunters constant need to play the air guitar, the reception at the Le Meridien Hotel in Cambridge was the most enjoyable of the year.

Wedding: Erin and Tyler

If you haven’t been to Tuck’s Point in Manchester-by-the-Sea, it’s quite a sight.  Nestled on the the western side of the harbor, the view from the shore is the perfect mix of sailboats and seagulls.  There, on a public pier stretching out into the water, Tyler and Erin exchanged their vows.

Wedding: Martha-Mary Chapel at the Wayside Inn

The Martha-Mary Chapel at Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. Photo by Orlando Claffey

When I was a child, we used to drive past the Martha-Mary Chapel in Sudbury, MA on the way to my grandmother’s house.  Often, on the weekends, we’d pass by a wedding in progress. Even at that age, I appreciated the beautiful simplicity of the chapel and the grounds.  The whole area screams history.  From the Grist Mill to the Wayside Inn, It’s a special section of the state.  I had the pleasure of shooting Dave and Felisa’s wedding there last weekend, and it was as special as I always imagined it would be.  Expect to see more shots from that wedding this Fall!

Wedding: Amy and Casey

This past July I was lucky enough to photograph one of the most radiant and loving couples I’ve experienced in my career. Amy and Casey were wed at the beautiful and rustic Bishop Farm in Lisbon, NH, on a shiny, sunny day. Couldn’t get much more perfect than that!amy 1

I loved seeing how happy each bride was. All day they were beaming, giggling, and smiling with no provocation. Truly a happy couple!amy 2

This is the best part of the day for me. When the couple starts crying you know things are about to get real.amy 3

Look at that grin – can’t get much more satisfied than that!

This photo is one of a million that show just how picturesque and romantic a place Bishop Farm really is. The scenery could not have been better to complement the sunny disposition of these girls.amy 5

Such big smiles! It was so nice to be in the presence of Amy and Casey on their wedding day. I’d be hard-pressed to think of a happier couple.

Wedding: Natasha and Dave

You may remember Natasha and Dave from their engagement session in February. I was so excited to work with them again because I loved their laid-back demeanor. They were so happy and I knew that would reflect in their wedding photos. They held their wedding and reception at Independence Harbor in Assonet, MA when snow was still blanketing the ground. It was a sight to behold!

Love how coy they are in this photo – heading off to the reception!natasha 5

One thing you may notice about these two is how they’re always smiling – and that’s natural. Definitely a rarity nowadays, but so heartwarming to witness.

I absolutely loved taking photos with the sun bouncing off the snow – how’s that for natural lighting?natasha 1Check out Natasha and Dave’s engagement session.

Wedding: Kristi and Dan

I was thrilled when I heard Kristi and Dan were having their wedding at Chateau Tivoli in San Francisco. I was so intrigued by their unique wedding concept – Kristi wore a gorgeous Victorian-style wedding dress to complement the vintage feel of the venue. And then I realized I would be able to visit Ghirardelli and stuff myself with chocolate and that made the trip that much more exciting.kristi 6

I was so impressed by how classy and thorough the theme was. Every inch of the bridal party was decked out in elaborate fancy garb. Each person seemed so happy for the bride and groom, who seemed truly happy and in love.kristi 5

The most heart-wrenching part of a wedding for me has always been witnessing a father walk his daughter down the aisle. Watching their faces contort as they try not to cry is always fun yet emotional to watch.kristi 3

But the first dance is always my favorite part of a wedding – the hushed silence makes it seem like the bride and groom are the only people in the room, and we get to witness this special moment. What a great experience!kristi 4

Engagement Session: Nina and Emilio

It couldn’t have been a more perfect Fall day for an engagement shoot with Emilio and Nina.  The trees were colorful, the sky was vivid and the temperature was ideal for a stroll through the Boston Public Gardens and the Back Bay.  An adorable couple that really jumped into the act, climbing trees, rocks and fountains for some excellent shots.  I can’t wait for the wedding in the Summer!

Be sure to check out our other engagement sessions, including Andy and Abbey and Amy and Mark!

Wedding: Amy and Mark

If you think Amy and Mark look familiar, it’s because we recently featured their engagement session from earlier this year on the blog. Like those shots, their wedding was fantastically unique, scrapping a traditional ceremony for family-and-friend-filled festival of fun. Yes, that was quite the alliteration.

The reception was at the Stepping Stone Ranch, a rustic space in Escoheag, RI, that specializes in gorgeous, rustic country weddings.  Great food and a cool venue, but most importantly, an excellent and wildly in love couple. They have a lifetime of happiness to look forward to, as the last photo I caught was a nice moment between loving grandparents.

How perfect is that.

Check out Amy and Mark’s engagement session – how happy they are! And don’t forget to check out more of our wedding sessions, including Sandra and Joshua.
