About Olrando Claffey
Born outside of Boston, I first started shooting in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, hiking the Presidential Range and Franconia Notch. I began my professional career as a military photojournalist, shooting in Iraq, Kuwait, Korea and England, and returned to become a news photographer. As photographer with a 13-year background, I’ve shot hundreds of photos daily in every environment imaginable, so the pressure of shooting a great wedding was something that felt right.
My style is a mix of photojournalism and traditional. I excel at candid photography. Throughout my career I’ve had great success capturing people and moments when they least expect it. Over the last few years I’ve worked to enhance my portraiture skills, marrying the two to create a truly unique package of photos for my couples.
I love to travel. I’ve shot weddings all over the country and actively seek them out. After getting married along the rocky Cape Ann Coast in New England, my wife and I have gone on some great road trips after long distance weddings, including a cross-country journey after a ceremony in San Francisco.
I shoot weddings because I love them. The emotion and the beauty can’t be matched. It would be an honor to shoot yours.
